FAQs

What types are articles can I submit to Health Pivot?

Before submitting an article for consideration, authors are encouraged to review content recently published in Health Pivot Journal to get a sense of both the style and content that we’re looking for.

Health Pivot offers authors several article types to choose from. The article types provided below correspond with various Health Pivot article series. If you have any questions about which option to choose, please contact us.

  • Opinion Commentary

Commentaries address important, current challenges in health care and are expected to build an argument through analysis of established facts in healthcare. While Commentaries are not expected to present systematic reviews of existing evidence/literature, they should present a responsible and balanced treatment of the state of knowledge on the topic.

  • Health Innovation / Policy Action

Innovation or policy papers address major challenges confronting the health ecosystem and take on broader topics. These papers may suggest constructive ways to tackle issues involving broad policy action to address a complex issue.

  • Theme Topics for Health Pivot Journal Issue

These submissions are framing papers for our annual journal. They provide context for readers by covering what is known about a particular topic and addressing key policy issues and challenges. They may combine elements of Research Article, Commentary, and policy series types.

  • Health Perspectives (by invitation only)

These are invited responses to published articles that offer insight or perspective on issues raised within the published article.

  • Health Innovation / Policy Analysis (by invitation only)

Analysis papers draw on known facts/data and existing innovation or policy research relevant to a particular policy question with the aim of answering or promoting understanding of the question. These papers can include but are not limited to formal policy or research analysis. Analysis papers are expected to draw conclusions based on clear reasoning from known evidence, reflect a complete and current understanding of that evidence, and be responsive to counter arguments.
